FORMER Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) vice president Richard Kazala and executive committee member Blackwell Siwale will only react to the expulsion after studying the matter.

Siwale in a phone interview said he would not comment on until at a later time.

“I don’t have any comment over what transpired yesterday. I am still studying the matter and will brief you when that time comes,” he said confidently

Meanwhile, Kazala also echoed Siwale’s sentiments and almost immediately cut the call.

“What do you want me to say? I have no comment I am still looking through the matter,” he said

Kazala and Siwale were last November suspended by FAZ president Andrew Kamanga for gross misconduct which included failing to account for K150,000 from the World Cup qualifier match tickets between Zambia and Nigeria.

Kazala and Siwale were on Saturday expelled from the FAZ executive committee after councillors voted for the expulsion of the two and 264 were for the motion while only 20 were against, during the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Government Complex in Lusaka. Meanwhile, Referees Association of Zambia (RAZ) president Welly Chikuka was happy by the allocation of K984, 000 to support referees in officiating matches work.

Chikuka hailed Kamanga for looking into the plight of referees.

“I am confident that now we will be able to train referees. For the past six years we have not been able to do so. The previous administration did not allocate anything to referees from the FIFA grant. I am happy that this administration has seen the role referees play,” he said.

He also commended Kamanga for implementing the new reforms which will see Zambia develop the sport.

And Matero United club chairman Jarious Siame was happy the Councillors put their personal interests aside and passed the draft constitution.

“From the voting pattern, one can tell that the councillors were united to ensure Zambia is not banned by FIFA. A total of 309 votes against 11 shows the patriotism the councillors have,” Siame said.
