STOP hiding in other countries and come back home to redeem your political party which is in total disarray and in dire need of your guidance before you start dreaming about redeeming Zambia, the PF has told Geoffrey Mwamba.

In a facebook statement on Thursday, Mr. Mwamba charged that the country was divided as ethnicity had become a weapon of war against citizens and that the current Government was using religion as a sword to strike those who did not belong to the ruling party.

He said the Ministry of Religious Affairs was only created at great public cost to back up that ideology.

He said the latest developments on the political scene required sober introspection, honest questions, answers and that if some citizens still thought the current state of affairs in Zambia were only political and would simply vanish into thin air, they would need to reconsider their position.

He observed that Zambia under the current leadership was divided right at its core. He accused the church, Judiciary, and the Legislature of being divided, adding that even the once united civil society, the labour, and student movements had been plunged into deep chasms.

But Lusaka Province PF information and publicity secretary Christopher Shakafuswa told the Daily Nation yesterday that the continued ranting by Mr. Mwamba while holed up in foreign lands was a show of cowardice and that he needed to come back home and liberate his party from the leadership crisis that had engulfed it first before he could talk about redeeming Zambia.

Mr. Shakafuswa accused Mr. Mwamba of being a “political prostitute” who only existed in political parties when everything favoured his interests and that contrary to his pledge to remain with the UPND through thick and thin, his inner conscious was to serve his interests and that his disappearance confirmed that he had not repented from his old habits.

“Mr. Mwamba has always been a coward. There is no one pursuing him but he has rendered himself a fugitive seeking asylum in another country while his party is engulfed in a leadership quagmire.

“No one has a case against him and we expect him to come back. He expected Hakainde Hichilema’s treason case to end within weeks so that he could return while hiding in the name of seeking specialist treatment but he has now been exposed as a liar and a coward who is trying to seek sympathy from the region by speaking ill of his own country while seeking asylum,” Mr. Shakafuswa said.

He said if GBM had a conscience, he would have gathered enough courage and come back to Zambia to speak from an informed position on the political situation in the country rather than depending on social media gossip to comment on what was happening.

“If there is a time that UPND desperately needs GBM, it is now but it is unfortunate that the second man in the line of defence has fled even when there is no one pursuing him and has now resorted to depending on social media as a form of communication when his party needs his presence,” he said.
