LUNDA chiefs in North-Western Province will support President Edgar Lungu in the next presidential election, says the Lunda Cultural Association in Zambia chairman general Anthony Samuhandu.

Mr Samuhandu said the 2021 elections would be different because President Lungu had shown interest in developing the province in the fastest way.

He said the chiefs who had so far met, had shown gratitude to President Lungu based on the on-going massive development projects in the province.

He said by the end of five years in office, President Lungu would have achieved a lot, adding  that the Head of State should rest assured of massive support in appreciation of his  good works.

“It is what people see that makes them appreciate, because President Lungu has proved the point, in that North-western province was one of the list developed provinces of Zambia, and today the story is not the same because of what we can see with our own eyes,” he said.

Mr Samuhandu said the province had been neglected by all the past governments, but that this time it was developing at a fast rate, adding the 2021 elections would be different.

He urged the people of the province to rally behind the Government and support where it was due because of development taking place in the region.

“I am appealing to our people to work hand in hand with the provincial minister because he has a duty to bring development to the area, and that is what we want,” he said.

Mr Samuhandu said the traditional leaders were monitoring the projects and appreciated what the government of the day was doing.

He said Mwinilunga was now connected to the national grid, which was development enough, adding that with the road networks connection, it would bring more revenue to Zambia for the benefit of the people.
