By FRANK NYAMBE

THERE was laughter in Lusaka Local Court when a woman said that she was making love with a Security Guard at the gate at his workplace while people were passing.

Susan Sakala, 23, was testifying in a case in which her father, Masauso Sakala, 51, of Makeni Simoson sued Kaumba Muchama, 26, a security guard of the same compound for deflowering and impregnating her.

However, Muchama denied impregnating Susan.

Sakala told Senior Court Magistrate Esther Mulomba sitting with Magistrate Abbyshine Michelo at Kanyama Local Court that he knows Muchama because he is a security guard where he works.

He explained that two weeks ago his daughter, Susan fell sick and that when she was taken to the clinic where she was found pregnant and that she mentioned Muchama to be responsible.

He explained that he wanted compensation because they could not cooperate when they called Muchama to resolve the matter.

In defence, Muchama denied impregnating Susan but admitted making love with her once on April 11, 2017.

He explained that on May 24, 2017 Susan came with a man whom she said wanted to marry her and that they went with the same man to buy eggs.

Susan testified that they knew each other with Muchama in January 2017, saying he was her boyfriend.

She testified that on May 17, 2017 he called her to his house and that they made love without a condom, adding that when she conceived, she informed him.

Susan testified that in June she fell sick and that at the clinic, she was found pregnant, adding that when they called Muchama he denied responsibility and said he was married but she went to his house on three occasions, there was no woman.

Asked by the court how many times they made love, Susan said that they made love on six occasions, saying three times at his house and three times at the gate at Muchama’s workplace while people were passing.

Magistrate Mulomba said that Muchama made love to Susan and he failed to challenge her even about the other man he mentioned, adding that he was responsible for her pregnancy.

She ordered Muchama to compensate Sakala K6, 000 by monthly instalments of K500.
