To prevent corruption at all stages of the recruitment exercise of health workers under the Global Funds Programme COVID- 19, the Anti- Corruption Commission (ACC) has been involved to ensure the selection process was done in a transparent manner.
ACC spokesperson Queen Chibwe has confirmed that the commission had partnered with the Ministry of Health in the ongoing recruitment exercise of health workers.
“The Commission is participating at all stages of the recruitment exercise as part of its corruption prevention function and taking necessary and effective measures for the prevention of corruption in public and private bodies, as provided under Section 6 a) of the Anti- Corruption Act No. 3 of 2012,” Ms Chibwe said.
She said the commission envisages that the exercise would be conducted with the utmost adherence to due processes, merit and transparency.
Ms Chibwe said the Commission was also engaging the Ministry of Health on the forthcoming mass recruitment of health workers.
“The Commission wishes to take this opportunity to warn all those that have applied for the vacancies in the Ministry of Health, as well as those that will be part of the recruitment exercise that it will not hesitate to take serious measures against anyone that will be found engaging in corrupt practices,’ she said.
She encouraged members of the public who may have information on any incidents of corruption during the recruitment exercise not hesitate to report to the commission.
