ZESCO United Football Club coach Tenant Chembo has assured football fans in Zambia that the team will not disappoint them when they face Jeshi La Kujenga Uchumi (JKU) of Zanzibar in the CAF Champions league return leg fixture scheduled to kick off  at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Chembo said that the boys in camp were aware of what was at stake.

Speaking at a press conference at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium Chembo noted that it was crucial for the Ndola giants to collect a positive result to be able to progress to the next round after having recorded a goalless in the first leg.

He said that the goalless draw in Zanzibar should not discourage the team but instead should motivate them to push for a positive result in today’s fixture.

“It is an important fixture and it is a must that we qualify to the next stage, we will not settle for a draw because we know what is at stake,

“Historically we’ve never lost at home and we are not considering to settle for that, we have a legacy to maintain,” Chembo said.

Chembo said that the team was injury free and ready to perform.

He admitted that there were few obstacles the club expected to encounter in the competition but the team had the mantle to progress.

He described their opponents in the fixture as a good side and cautioned his team not to underrate them.

Speaking earlier, JKU Coach Ali Sleiman Haji told journalists that the club planned to use ZESCO’s weaknesses to wintoday’s fixture.

Haji said that his team was not under pressure as they prepared adequately for the game against Zesco.

He was confident that his side would upset Chembos’s boys at their home ground because of the way they played the first leg fixture in Zanzibar.
