HOUSING and Infrastructure Development Minister Ronald Chitotela has said 2021 elections will be critical in terms of’ ‘‘Sontapo’’.
He said therefore that it was imperative that the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) remained united and worked towards delivering its campaign promises of improving people’s lives.
Speaking on Monday in Kitwe when he paid a courtesy call on the party leadership, Mr Chitotela who is PF Pambashe Member of Parliament (MP), said his newly-created ministry had stepped up its works to ensure that Zambians had access to decent housing as well as traveling on better roads.
Mr Chitotela said he was on the Copperbelt to see the state of roads in the province so that his ministry could know which ones needed urgent attention when the project of road rehabilitation started in the area.
“2021 will be critical in terms of ‘Sonta epo wabomba’ because we have to show the people of the Copperbelt and Zambia in general that we are not impotent, but we can always deliver on our campaign promises. As a party, let us remain a united force up to 2021.
“Critics will always be there, but let us ignore them and remain focused so that we prove them wrong. Obviously, you don’t expect the opposition to sing praises for the PF. No, they will always criticize regardless of how good we have performed,” Mr Chitotela said.
