E-GOVERNANCE remains an all-inclusive developmental component as it enhances domestic revenue collection by minimizing revenue leakages and eliminating under-valuation, says Finance Minister Felix Mutati.
Speaking after President Lungu delivered his speech to Parliament, Mr. Mutati also observed that Zambia still had a lot to do in removing developmental inequalities, saying it was incumbent upon politicians to ensure that they paid attention to the demands of the people by addressing their challenges.
Mr. Mutati said Zambia had prioritised e-governance system as it held mammoth benefits to the economic development of the country such as sealing loopholes that exposed domestic revenue to sabotage and eliminating under-valuation.
He noted that improved and enhanced revenue collection was key to the development of the country as it presented a broader and leakage-free base from which the country could maximise revenue collection whose proceeds would then help in the development of various sectors of the economy.
“As a ministry and as an integral part of the development process, we think the issues around e-governance are going to be extremely important particularly as they relate to enhancing domestic revenue collection by minimising revenue leakages through automations and eliminating under-valuation and ensuring the integrity of revenue as a key component to achieve the all-inclusive developments that we are looking for,” Mr. Mutati said.
And Mr. Mutati said Zambia still had a lot to do in removing developmental inequalities, saying it was incumbent upon all politicians to ensure that they paid attention to the demands of the people by addressing their challenges.
He also called for an all-inclusive approach from all Zambians in eliminating the challenges facing the country, saying the country will only develop through concerted efforts as everyone was responsible for the change that they were craving for.
