FAZ  has announced adjustments to the final fixtures of the 2016 MTN FAZ Super League following Nkana’s protest over rescheduled matches. The revised fixtures availed to the club by FAZ early this week showed that Nkana would play their remaining matches tomorrow and Sunday while the other teams would finish their last games on December 10. Nkana wrote to FAZ three days to protest the decision arguing that it would create loopholes for match-fixing which would disadvantage the “Red Devils”. In a letter signed by club executive officer Kenny Mwansa dated 30th November, 2016 addressed to FAZ general secretary Ponga Liwewe, the club said there was no way it could be compelled to play its last match in the league on the 4th of December when selected teams would play theirs on  the 10th. Mwansa said the rescheduled matches pitted Nkana and Zesco United in the same situation as they were both fighting for the Confederations Cup berth while other teams were battling for survival. Mwansa feared that if rescheduled fixture remained unchanged, there would be a possibility of match-fixing. “We acknowledge receipt of the MTN/FAZ fixture for super division week 34 to be played on Saturday, 3rd and Sunday 4th December, 2016. We wish to express our concern as to why we should play our last game on 4th December, 2016 yet a few selected teams will play their last games on 10th December, 2016. “We wish to state our position as Nkana for instance, we are in contention for the second slot with Zesco United and similarly, there are other teams in the relegation zone fighting for survival. We will definitely be disadvantaged and the probability that some matches will be fixed is very high,” read the letter in part. As a response to the concerns raised by Nkana, FAZ pushed forward their match with Forest Rangers from 4th to 10th December. FAZ has also pushed forward from 3rd to 10th December the match between Green Eagles and Lusaka Dynamos. The rest of the Week 34 fixtures will remain the same as Lusaka Tigers and Power Dynamos will battle it out tomorrow at the Independence stadium while Red Arrows will play Mufulira Wanderers at Nkoloma.   Saturday, 3rd December 2016 15:00 Lusaka Tigers vs Power Dynamos – Independence Stadium 15:00 Napsa Stars vs Lumwana Radiants – Sunset Stadium 15:00 Kabwe Warriors vs Nchanga Rangers – Godfrey Chitalu Stadium 15:00 Mufulira Blackpool vs Zanaco – Shinde Stadium 15:00 Red Arrows vs Mufulira Wanderers – Nkoloma Stadium 15:00 Nkwazi vs Green Buffaloes – Edwin Imboela Stadium Sunday, 4th December 2016 15:00 Zesco United vs Nakambala Leopards -Levy Mwanawasa Stadium
