NATIONAL Democratic Congress (NDC) consultant and PF Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili will on February 2, 2018 appear before High Court Judge Banda Bobo for inter-party hearing in a matter in which he is seeking an injunction against PF member Ibrahim Mwamba.
Mr Kambwili will again appear on February 19 before High Court Judge Susan Wanjelani for another inter-parte hearing in his quest to stop another PF member, Chanoda Ngwira from uttering any defamatory words against him.
Mr Kambwili sued Mr Mwamba and Mr Ngwira in separate statements of claim for defamation.
He complained of the statement which Mr Ngwira issued at a press conference on October 6 at Chrisma Hotel where Mr. Kambwili said those words in their natural and ordinary meaning meant and were understood to mean that he was not deserving of his title as doctor as he acquired the title in a questionable manner.
He tated that the words Mr Mwamba uttered at a press conference held in October 2017 meant that he was suffering from a mental disorder or had a mental illness which he was hiding as this would prove that he was an incapable leader and someone whose words could not be taken seriously.
Mr. Kambwili in his statements of claim stated that Mr Chanoda and Mr Ngwira’s words were false, malicious and defamatory, adding that he had been seriously injured.
The former information minister stated that his credit and reputation had been brought into scandal, odium, and contempt in the eyes of right thinking members of society.
And Mr Kambwili is seeking a restraining order to stop the duo from further issuing false statements or similar words against him to the total instruction of his political and private life as well as a respected law abiding and honest citizen.
