CHISHIMBA Kambwili is courting trouble and should not cry foul when his actions boomerang, the PF in the Northern Province have warned.
Commenting on Mr. Kambwili’s continued accusations and counter accusations with Minister of Home Affairs Stephen Kampyongo which have cascaded into personal attacks, Provincial PF deputy elections chairperson Chibwaya Muma told the Daily Nation that Mr. Kambwili was plotting his own downfall.
Mr. Muma said Mr. Kambwili was biting more than he could chew and that soon, his own wrongdoings both in private and public life would be laid bare for all to see.
He added that once that happened, he should not blame anyone but himself for his arrogance and truant behaviour.
Mr Muma said while the ruling party had been lenient and gave him time to reflect on the havoc he had created and repent before he was expelled, Mr. Kambwili showed no remorse for his rebellious behaviour to party members and its leadership.
He said his current bitterness should not be blamed on anyone else but himself.
He said it was hypocritical for Mr. Kambwili to label everyone he worked with in Governmnet as being corrupt when he was mute and defended everything Government was doing, including the purchase of fire tenders which he claims were corruptly procured.
“Mr. Kambwili thinks that he can sway the masses with his wild allegations about alleged corruption in Government, yet he was silent over all the decisions made during the time he was minister. The process to procure fire tenders began long before he was fired from his position as minister and his consequent expulsion from the party but why didn’t he talk about corruption then?
“He may be thinking that he is fixing his perceived enemies in the party but the truth is that he is exposing himself as those he is attacking today will not sit idle. They know a lot of wrong things he did while in Government and they will surely hit back.
“He has opened a Pandora’s Box for himself and should not cry when his actions boomerang on him because that is what he is courting,” Mr. Muma said.
He urged Mr. Kambwili not to turn Parliament into a circus and a platform to avenge his expulsion by unnecessarily attacking those he perceived as enemies.
“Why is it that his theme for parliamentary debates is now hinged on Government being corrupt? Why should he now use parliament to accuse Mr. Kampyongo of corruption when he did not do so at the time he was on the same divide with him?
“Mr. Kambwili should respect Parliament. People want issues to be debated there and not personalities. If Mr. Kambwili has issues with anyone in the party which are personal in nature, let him not use our respected institution to propagate his own agenda,” he said.
