FORMER chief human resources and development officer at the Ministry of Health, Henry Kapoko, and his co-accused, acting director of human resources and administration Nobert Peleti, have been found with a case to answer. This is in a matter where the duo are facing six counts of abuse of authority of office, theft by public servant and money laundering involving K1,290,402.
They are alleged to have used part of the money to build Best Home lodges and purchased a house in Olympia. Lusaka Magistrate Alfrida Chulu held that the prosecution had proved its case in all the counts. The matter is coming up for defence from 16th to 27th January, 2017.
Anti-Corruption Commission corporate affairs officer, Christopher Chibanku, said Kapoko was arrested by the commission in 2009 following the unearthing of a scam involving corruption, theft and money laundering at the Ministry of Health.
