MARKETEERS in Kitwe have told expelled PF Member of the Central Committee Mwenya Musenge to concentrate on nursing the wounds of his expulsion instead of making fake promises that his party will be the mouthpiece of the informal sector.

Association of Vendors and Marketeers (AVEMA) president Able Chikwa said marketeers will not entertain cheap political propaganda from Mr Musenge because he had used them before.

Mr Chikwa said when Mr Musenge became Copperbelt Minister, he forgot about them and never hinted about improving their welfare.

He was reacting to Mr Musenge’s statement that his party will be the mouthpiece of the informal sector because he had seen the sufferings of the players in the area.

Mr Musenge said his party would concentrate on ensuring that the welfare of the players in the sector was improved so that they carried out their business aptly.

But, Mr Chikwa said Mr Musenge should take a low profile to reflect on a number of unfortunate incidents which started with the loss of the Chimwemwe seat and his expulsion from the party.

“Marketeers know Mr Musenge too well and so he can’t fool them with any sweet talk. Mr Musenge used marketeers when PF was in the opposition and some of them were taken to Kamfinsa Prison, but after fighting battles with him, he completely forgot about them when he was Copperbelt Minister,

“Now that he is out of the system, he wants to come back to marketeers to help him fight battles. No ways. Even those who are following him are just after his money,” said Mr Chikwa

And Mr Chikwa has said the 23 marketeers who went to meet Mr Musenge at Chillers were crooked characters who merely wanted to cash in, on the former Copperbelt minister, but met a rude shock because he did not give them anything.

He advised Mr Musenge to be careful with the path he had taken of forming a political party because people will be heaping all sorts of praises on him just to” eat” from him and in the process, they will run him down.
