PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Mafinga Constituency Member of Parliament Jocob Siwale has revealed that the area is on course in receiving farming inputs from government and has projected a bumper harvest.

And the Mafinga parliamentarian has stated that the construction works of seven health posts in Muchinga Province which had stalled have resumed and were progressing well with his constituency having received two health posts.

In an interview with the Daily Nation, Mr. Siwale said the constituency received the farming inputs on time with the exception   of seeds which were expected to be delivered and distributed to the farmers by next week.

“I can confirm that all the fertilizer that was allocated to Mafinga district and the constituency at large have reached. We are just waiting for the seed which we have only received half of the batch but by next week, we should be able to distribute to the farmers,” Mr. Siwale said.

And Mr. Siwale said the construction of the seven health posts in Mafinga was not done in accordance with the contractual obligation which saw the contractor abandoning works following some disagreements with Government in partnership with the government of India who are the funders.

He said the contract has since been awarded to the Zambia National Service which would work on the seven health posts expected to be completed and set for commissioning by 30th May, 2017. “The contractors are on site and works are going on well. In the next few months, we expect the people of Mafinga to start accessing better health care through the commitment of the Patriotic Front PF government,” he said.
