A 45-year-old businessman of Kanyama yesterday pleaded not guilty to one count of obtaining pecuniary advantages by false pretenses involving K153, 637. 10 debt and one count of issuing a check on insufficiently funded account to Capital Fisheries Limited.
When he matter came up before Magistrate Brian Simachela for plea, Eugene Simubali pleaded not guilty to the two counts.
In count one of this matter, it is alleged that Simubali trading as Eugine Beefs on dates unknown but between April 22 2017 and September 13 2017 in Lusaka, by false pretenses and dishonesty, did obtain for himself a pecuniary advantage namely a debt in the sum of K153, 637. 10 which he made himself liable to Capital Fisheries Limited and did evade such payment. And in the second count, it is alleged that Simubali on September 12 2017 in Lusaka, willfully and dishonestly did issue a cheque number 000090 in the sum of K20, 000 to Capital Fisheries Limited on an insufficiently funded account number 0000001242179.
Meanwhile, two men are in court on two counts of defilement of a girl under the age of 16 years. In count one of this matter, Nepia Chinyundu on unknown dates but between August 2017 and December 2014 in Lusaka, had unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 16 years. And in the second count, Brian Sichula on the same dates in Lusaka, had unlawful carnal knowledge of the same girl who is under the age of 16 years.
