THE Patriotic Front (PF) government will expel more of its members of parliament for what is being described as divided loyalty.

They have now accused Mandevu PF MP Jean Kapata, Chifubu MP Suzan Kawandami, Luanshya Member of Parliament Wilbur Simusa and Inonge Wina the party’s chairperson of siding with those they suspect of being sellouts in the party.

According to PF sources, the party leadership through the office of the Secretary General Wynter Kabimba has secretly constituted a team of cadres loyal to Kabimba to screen some named MPs whom the party suspects to be working with embattled Foreign Affairs Minister Given Lubinda and other “disgruntled” members.

The leadership suspects that some MPs were working with Mr. Lubinda, are Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili, Chiefs Affairs Minister Prof Nkandu Luo, Defence Minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba, Coppebelt Minister Mwenya Musenge and Deputy Minister Agriculture Lackson Kazabu to destabilizing the party.

Others who are being screened are Ms. Kawandami who is Chiefs Affairs Deputy Minister, Jean Kapata Deputy Minister Community Development Mother and Child Health, Wilbur Simusa Lands and Environment Minister and Fackson Shamenda of Labour.

The officials who preferred not to be named for fear of victimization told the Daily Nation that the party secretariat was not comfortable with the named Members of Parliament who they suspect of working with the opposition UPND and NAREP.

“It is a serious committee which they have set up. Some of these Ministers are being watched day and night to ascertain people they are meeting in both their constituencies and around Lusaka. They are being suspected to be moles in the PF. That is why bamayo bana Kawandami together with ba Jean Kapata were included in that disciplinary committee for Mr. Lubinda. Unknowingly they did not go with the recommendations to have Lubinda expelled. It is just a matter of days you will hear that they have started following them just like the way they have been following GBM, Lubinda, Kambwili and others,” the source said.

The officials said that many members were being used to character assassinate their MPs and other strong members in order to completely deal with those that have presidential ambitions.

The source said that some senior party officials have been accused of conducting meetings in Kafue and Chilanga planning to take over the party leadership by advocating for an emergency convention where the leadership would be replaced.

“What the President knows is that a group of PF MPs are teaming up to vote him out during an emergency convention when the party secretariat bows to pressure. And the people they are suspecting are the names we have given you. But the truth is that all these plans are being created and administered by Mr. Kabimba who has serious interest in the position of President because it is like Mr. Sata might not contest in 2016,” the source said.
