NEVERS Mumba is an attention seeker who is desperately masquerading as Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) president just to gratify his personal glory, MMD secretary general Raphael Nakacinda has charged.
Mr Nakacinda further stated that the MMD were busy articulating on national issues that affected the people of Zambia and that they did not have time to deal with Dr. Mumba’s sentiments.
He pointed out that MMD was beyond personal gratifications and that they were busy analysing how best they could contribute to national development as a party.
Mr Nakacinda said that it was unrealistic for Dr. Mumba to completely ignore the plight of the Zambian people and only care about the presidency position.
“Dr. Mumba is an attention seeker who is desperately masquerading as MMD president just to gratify his personal glory and does not have the plight of the Zambian people at heart. He is desperate for power and all he cares about above everything else is becoming president of the party. We have, however, resolved not to be swayed by his mediocrity because it is not worth our attention,” Mr Nakacinda said.
Mr Nakacinda further said that it was unfortunate that Dr. Mumba had continued bringing the name of the party into disrepute and that the Zambian people would judge for themselves. Mr Nakacinda also disclosed that orientation and capacity building workshops have been organised with founding members of the party including Mr Akashambatwa Lewanika, Donald Chanda, and others.
He also explained that they were going through the fundamentals on which the party was founded and how they would impact the lives of the Zambian people.
Meanwhile, the Nevers Mumba MMD faction recently held an extraordinary meeting where they resolved to expel Mr Nakacinda and former Party National Secretary Mwansa Mbulakulima.
