NOT all the 70 juveniles that were rounded up in Lusaka’s Woodlands area were involved in illicit sext, police spokesperson, Esther Katongo has clarified.
Ms Katongo also disclosed that the juveniles who were picked for illicit and immoral activities in Lusaka’s Woodlands area have since been released.
Ms Katongo told the Daily Nation yesterday that parents and guardians of all the 70 teenagers turned up and pleaded with the police to have the juveniles released and upon paying admission of guilt for them they were released.
Ms. Katongo explained that the Juveniles were locked up after charging them with conduct likely to cause breach of public peace adding that not all of them were having sex.
“All of them were released after their parents and guardians pleaded with the police and paid the admission of guilt for the juveniles. They were locked up after charging them with conduct likely to cause breach of the peace,” she said.
She further explained that contrary to reports from some section of the media that the police on Friday raided a house in Lusaka’s Woodlands area and stopped an alleged sex party involving 70 teenagers, not all the teenagers were involved in sex.
She said that some juvenile among the 70 were involved in other illicit activities such as beer drinking not sex.
Mrs. Katongo said that bottles of beer and used condoms were found on the scene at the scene that happened between 17:00 hours and 18:00 hours but some juveniles were not participating in sexual activities.
