Only selfish individuals would call for the dismissal of SG, North-West PF

CALLS to have PF secretary general Davis Mwila dismissed are coming from very few selfish individuals who want to usurp power, says North-Western province Patriotic Front (PF) chairperson Emmanuel Chihili.

He told the Daily Nation in an interview that the appointment of the party secretary general is a prerogative of the party president and therefore, people have no power to decide who should be appointed in that position.

He said the party in the province was very happy with the appointment of Mr Mwila as party secretary general and that it stood ready to support and work closely with him.

“They are trying to do all this to get at the president, but the fact is there is no vacuum in as far as the party presidency is concerned,” he said.

He said people should dedicate their time to supporting the president in developing the country unlike politicking every time.

“At the moment, we are politicking but time will come and I can assure you that we are going to show those people who want to bring confusion in the party,” he said.

He said President Edgar Lungu needed the support of every well-meaning Zambian in ensuring that his dream of developing the country was realised.

“It is clear that North-Western province PF is among the three regions that are least developed. Therefore, he needs our support,” he added.
