ANGRY parents have called on the Minister of Home Affairs  Steven Kampyongo to undertake  comprehensive and independent investigation into the sex orgy in Lusaka because  Woodlands Police were determined to cover-up the event to protect the identities of those involved.

This follows an announcement by Police Public Relations Officer Esther Mwata Katongo who has appealed to the public with information of wrong doing to assist them bring wrong doers to book.

“This is absolute nonsense. The Police have all the names of the children who paid admission of guilt, they also know the person who hosted the event what more information are they looking for?” an angry parent remonstrated.

“Firstly procuring sex with youngsters is an offence and the Police themselves ordered participants to dress up,  in a place where used condoms were found. What were they doing naked as shown in the pictures circulating on social media?” an angry parent asked.

“The Police are covering up for children belonging to high people in society. That is why they are dragging their feet. If this happened in less prestigious areas of the city they would have arrested all those concerned.” She said.

Police spokesperson Esther Katongo said people with information on any sort of crime should report to police and allow them to institute investigations.

“As long as they are suspecting something happening, they should report to police and us we are going to investigate and establish whatever is happening there,” she said.

Ms Katongo appealed to the public to report any kind of suspicious activities which could be happening in their neighborhoods for police to open investigations in the matter.

She said she could not give a time frame for the inquiries into the Woodlands scandal, as the period would be determined by the availability of evidence coming up in the investigations.

She said people with any kind of information should come forward to help officers with a lead to institute investigations.

Last week, Minister of Gender Victoria Kalima directed the investigative wings of Government which included the police and the Drugs Enforcement Commission (DEC) to thoroughly investigate what exactly happened at the Woodlands house and also other suspected activities of similar nature reported to be taking place elsewhere in Lusaka.
