ZAMBIA national women trainer Albert Kachinga says Shepolopolo will not allow South Africa to upset their target of reaching the 2017 COSAFA final when the two teams lock horns in a semi-final clash this Thursday.

Shepolopolo on Sunday booked a semi-final slot after a 7-1 massacre of Madagascar at the ongoing tournament in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

Kachinga said Banyana was a strong side and his team must amply plot their bitter rivals’ fall.

“It’s not going to be an easy semi-final as we are going to play a strong team. South Africa has always been our bitter rival and so we have to plan well to get a win,” he said.

He said his lasses have shown a strong willed character and team spirit in all the matches.

He said the Shepolopolo still have more to offer and will put in their all to reach the final.

“We came here with a target to get to the final and that is what we will fight for. Zambia has a lot to offer at this tournament,” he said.

The Shepolopolo are unbeaten, having pummelled Malawi 6-3 in the opening group A match, drawn 1-1 against Zimbabwe, before bashing Madagascar 7-1 to finish top with seven points.

Zambia’s best performance in the Cosafa women championship was a bronze medal in 2002 and 2006.
