BY CHITE MTONGA

CHIEF Mukuni should just keep quite because Zambians no longer take him seriously as a traditional leader as everyone knows that he is just a cadre of the UPND and he can say anything just to advantage his “boy” Hakainde Hichilema, Zambia Republican Party (ZRP) President Wright Musoma has said.

Mr Musoma said chief Mukuni was no longer relevant as his comments were now made out of frustration triggered by numerous efforts he had made without success to help Mr Hichilema to excel politically.

He said Chief Mukuni was supporting a failed project and should get used to the idea that President Lungu was republican President and Zambians had not asked him to step down.

“I think we are past the time of expecting chief Mukuni to say something constructive, the chief stopped thinking correctly a long time ago. If you look at some of the statements he has been making in the media, even from last year you can easily conclude that, either he is very frustrated or its the black magic he announced he was  practicing that has finally gotten to his head,” he said.

Mr Musoma said it was public Knowledge that President Lungu was coached and chosen by late President Michael Sata and it was therefore unacceptable for chief Mukuni to claim that Former Minister of Foreign Affairs Harry Kalaba is the one who had coached President Lungu.

He said Zambians should not waste their time considering utterances from Chief Mukuni who was so indiscipline that he failed to even adhere to the rules in the house of chiefs which does not encourage them to take political sides.

“PF has allies like us the ZRP and many other opposition political parties and do not forget they also have many MPs in parliament,  so really the PF party is still very strong and President Lungu is the one Zambians want to lead until 2021 or even beyond depending on the will of the Zambian people in 2021 so why should Chief Mukuni say President Lungu should resign  because  as a party we just think the chief has completely lost it,” He said.

And Change Life Zambia Board Chairperson John Kasongo said Chief Mukunis role as a traditional leader was to represent his subjects and all Zambians regardless of political affiliation. Mr Kasongo said chief Mukuni was trading on dangerous grounds by perpetually interfering in politics when he was a traditional leader.

He said it was shameful for Chief Mukuni to get excited over resignation of a political leader just because of his political preferences.
