PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu is very happy with the progress so far made by the security wings in enforcing Article 31 which has prevented among other things, the blowing up of the oxygen plant at UTH by terrorists.
Special assistant to the President for press and public relations, Amos Chanda disclosed that security reports have indicated that a lot of progress has been made with regards to mollifying the threatened state of emergency declared by the Head of State.
Mr Chanda said the police were on top of things with the recent preventative measures taken against some unscrupulous people who wanted to blow up the multi-million Kwacha University Teaching Hospital (UTH) oxygen plant at the facility.
He said there was privileged security information which had revealed that some people were found trying to ignite the oxygen plant used for the production of the lifesaving gas used in all health facilities across Zambia.
He has since warned all those criminals involved in the acts of sabotage that their time was wasting away as the law would soon catch up with them.
Mr Chanda said the invocation of Article 31 has seen the arrest of 11 suspects while investigations were ongoing.
And Mr Chanda expressed concern as to why the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) and other organisations were questioning the security measures put in place to safeguard the interests of the Zambians who were being victimszed by saboteurs like those who burnt down Lusaka City Market.
