HH, UPND courting heart attacks
Dear Editor,
I write to appeal to all peace loving Zambians to stop portraying behaviour synonymous of a country at war or that has no Government in place.
Zambia quite okay came from an election but has a duly declared President and a sworn in Parliament that is currently sitting.
The Parliament comprises all political party Members of Parliament that emerged victorious in the just ended election, not just Patriotic Front (PF) party members and have sworn allegiance to the declared President.
So, where is the noise coming from as if we are at war or have no Government in power?
Those thinking otherwise should be allowed to dance to their own ‘pelete’ continually but nothing will change the status quo of this beautiful country politically.
The 14-day-period for petitioning the elections as enshrined in the Constitution were even accorded to those still crying and that even saw the delay in the swearing in of the President, but not anymore.
What is taking place now is the interpretation of the cons and pros of the Constitution in regard of the failed petition, not that the election will be overturned mwebantu please.
Let us be serious with the way we do things and therefore, stop crying over spilt milk.
The Government in place doesn’t only comprise the ruling PF Members of Parliament but also all the opposition Members of Parliament that swore allegiance to the President and the government of the day.
And that President is Edgar Chagwa Lungu of the Patriotic Front party.
I, therefore, appeal to those who think otherwise to give us a break and just start preparing for 2021 elections if they don’t want to suffer from a serious heart attack in 2021.

Councillors should construct offices
Dear Editor,
I write to urge our councillors to think of constructing operational offices in their various wards countrywide for easy accessibility.
The issue of getting our Councillors either at their residential homes, Council offices or on their mobile phones whenever residents have issues to bring to their attention has become a thorn in the flesh for most of us.
It is with the aforesaid that the councillors should endeavour to construct offices where they can easily be accessed by the general membership.
The councils are not short of land to allow for such in various wards country wide.
This will actually stop residents from knocking at their residential places whenever they want to see them with problems.
Let councillors’ homes be places of resting while they can be found at their offices from 08:00 hours to 17:00 hours.
I know there are a few councillors with the help of their Members of Parliament and the community who have already constructed offices in their respective wards, which is very commendable and others should learn from such.

NUMSA should discipline its general secretary
Dear Editor,
NUMSA Secretary General Irvin Jim should be disciplined and actually be expelled by the union for putting its image in disrepute.
As a secretary general Jim should know that there are laws that govern each and every country and putting his nose in the sovereignty of any country as a union is tantamount to lack of understanding as a leader.
Zambia has unions that can speak on the happenings in our country without involving South African unions and his nose diving in our affairs is, therefore, uncalled for and utterly injudicious.
He should know that commenting and actually attacking legally registered bodies in Zambia that are merely doing their work is out of bound.
Let him comment on xenophobia attacks but should not preoccupy himself with issues happening in Zambia as if we, as Zambians, have failed.
Where we see a wrong being committed in Zambia, there is freedom for us in Zambia to comment on them ourselves.

FAZ has robbed Zambians
Dear Editor,
I write to register my anger and disappointment on why Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) could rob us of such an important event of not televising the under 20 AFCON taking place just in our back yards.
This is an important tournament which FAZ should have prepared adequately and gave Zambians something to smile at.
What is the problem at Football House?
Beaming of the games on our national television should have taken centre stage just like hosting the actual tournament in Zambia considering that most Zambians go for work during the day and could not make it to the stadia.
That could have proved the success of this FAZ team, not just the hosting.
There is surely something amiss with FAZ and the earlier it is sorted out the better for our football fraternity.
I take this to be daylight robbery by FAZ.
