By OSCAR MALIPENGA

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has arrived in Malabo,  Equatorial Guinea for the ten nation summit on the Africa’s inclusion on the United Nations Security Council membership.

And speaking earlier at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA) before departure, the President said there is no confusion in Zambia and those saying so are living in their own world.

And President Lungu has disclosed that he has received a letter from the Zambia Centre for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) requesting the PF to attend a meeting for political parties.

The Head of State said he had directed PF secretary general Davis Mwila to analyze the items on the agenda of the meeting to see if it was worth attending.

The Head of State was responding to a question from journalists who wanted to get his reaction on allegations by some Civil Society Organisations that there was no mutual ground for political dialogue in Zambia.

President Lungu said the  Zambia Centre for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID), was a forum for political parties to negotiate. “So it is not correct to say we do not have a mutual forum where we can discuss issues.

“I think I received a letter from the president, chairman or secretary general of the ZCID requesting that political parties must meet and I asked my general secretary to look at the items on the agenda, if they are worth attending by party presidents.

‘‘We shall attend and if they are worth attending by the secretary generals they shall attend. So we have a forum,” President Lungu said. President Lungu also said with or without the presence of the ZCID, anyone could engage the Patriotic Front as a political party if they were thinking there was acrimony or confusion reigning in the country.

“But so far so good; we cannot see any acrimony. For us the institutions are working. The Government, the legislature, the Judiciary, everyone is working; so those who see problems should bring them to us.

“If it is us who are in the wrong or are part of the confusion, approach us and tell us this is what you are doing, I think this is unacceptable, so these issues should be discussed but people are imagining there is confusion.

‘‘They are living in their own world and imagining there is confusion in Zambia. There is no confusion in Zambia; there is no confusion in Zambia,” President Lungu said.
