COVID-19 is back in the headlines, now being the talk of the day. Almost everyone is now talking about it, whether those that believe it to be real or those that still think it is a hoax.
It is on every television station, in every tabloid, trending on social media with all the information and infodemics.
The admissions and the deaths are skyrocketing and it seems we still have a long way to go. Changes have been enforced and restrictions have been tightened, hopefully people will comply.
I am thankful that for almost a year now we have not relented but continued sharing information on Covid-19 in the hope of reaching out to many people and help reduce the number of infections and casualties.
I hope this little contribution to this struggle makes a big difference.
As much as Covid-19 is making headlines so are the possible cures as well and this brings us back to Ivermectin. This is one drug that is still controversial and has been discussed time and again. This time around the headlines are mainly from India over the suing of the WHO representative in that country.
INDIA BAR SUES THE COUNTRY’S WHO REPRESENTATIVE OVER IVERMECTIN
For this unique law suit I refer to the article written JUSTUS R. HOPE, MD in the Desert review on June 10, 2021:

The Indian Bar Association (IBA) sued WHO chief scientist Dr. Soumya Swaminathan on May 25, accusing her in a 71-point brief of causing the deaths of Indian citizens by misleading them about Ivermectin.
Point 56 states, “that your misleading tweet on May 10, 2021, against the use of ivermectin had the effect of the state of Tamil Nadu withdrawing ivermectin from the protocol on May 11, 2021, just a day after the Tamil Nadu government had indicated the same for the treatment of Covid-19 patients.”
Advocate Dipali Ojha, lead attorney for the Indian Bar Association, threatened criminal prosecution against Dr. Swaminathan “for each death” caused by her acts of commission and omission.
The bar went on to lay out specific charges on Dr Swaminathan as follows:
“Specific charges included the running of a disinformation campaign against ivermectin and issuing statements in social and mainstream media to wrongfully influence the public against the use of ivermectin despite the existence of large amounts of clinical data showing its profound effectiveness in both prevention and treatment of Covid-19.
In particular, the Indian Bar brief referenced the per-reviewed publications and evidence compiled by the 10-member Front line Covid-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC) group and the 65-member British Ivermectin Recommendation Development (BIRD) panel headed by WHO consultant and meta-analysis expert Dr. Tess Lawrie.
The Indian Bar Association posted an update on their website on June 5, 2021, noting that Dr. Swaminathan had deleted her now-infamous tweet. They wrote, “however, deleting the tweet will not save Dr. Soumya Swaminathan and her associates from the criminal prosecution which is to be launched by the citizens with active support from the Indian Bar Association.”
In this update, advocate Dipali Tjha clarified the nature of the planned action, the planned action sounded very stern. And in part it reads
“The Indian Bar Association has warned action under section 302 etc. of the Indian penal code against Dr. Swaminathan and others, for murder of each person dying due to obstruction in treatment of Covid-19 patient effectively by ivermectin. Punishment under section 302 of the Indian penal code is death penalty or life imprisonment.”
The bar further on went to claim that the “entire world witnessed the effectiveness of ivermectin against India’s deadly second surge as the locations that adopted it saw their outbreaks quickly extinguished in stark contrast to those states that did not.”
“Among the most prominent examples include the ivermectin areas of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and goa where cases dropped 98 percent, 97 percent, 94 percent, and 86 percent, respectively.
“By contrast, Tamil Nadu opted out of ivermectin. as a result, their cases skyrocketed and rose to the highest in India. Tamil Nadu deaths increased ten-fold,” The bar cited.
Tamil Nadu publicly relied upon Dr. Swaminathan’s advice in revoking their initial choice of Ivermectin the day after she recommended against it in her May 10 tweet on social media.
As a direct result, Tamil Nadu experienced a surge in Covid deaths and sickness that continues to this day.” The bar continued.
Please note this is a legal case still going on in India. We will see how this case turns out.
I have seen a lot of people queening up in numbers with the hope of getting tested for Covid-19 which is a good thing as it is the sign that some people are now giving Covid-19 the seriousness it deserves.
So many people test positive and so many are sent home to self-isolate. There is all kind of treatments people try out at home and often I do receive calls with many asking me if they can use ivermectin. I know some who have used it and have recovered know some who have used it but still got sick and some even died. Health like every aspect of an individual is all about personal decisions. We can only advise; the final step remains with the person being advised.
Even if the current position in Zambia on ivermectin is that it is not yet recommended as part of treatment against covid 19, this doesn’t stop the public from using it as many are already doing so.
As much as Ivermectin may help as others claim so and so is some literature, the best would not to get sick of Covid-19 in the first place.
Please kindly read and understand the claims being made for and against Ivermectin in relation to Covid-19. Please if you can help it do not get infected because with or without ivermectin there really is no guarantee how the scenario would play out if you ended up with a severe form of the disease.
We all know by now what we should do to avoid getting infected and our chances of getting sick will even be slimmer if most people did their rightful duty of observing the public health measures.
