LUSAKA RESIDENTS GET INTO CELEBRATION MOOD.

Premature celebrations have errupted in various parts of Lusaka as the anticipated declaration of UPND Hakainde Hichilema as the seventh Republican President of Zambia around midnight is awaited.

And Hakainde Hichilema is getting close to clinching victory in Thursday’s polls after results in 128 constituencies were announced at around 18:00 hours.

With only 28 more constituencies remaining
Hichilema is leading with 2,324,847 with a margin 860166 between him and incumbent president Edgar Lungu who currently has 1,464,490

from the valied votes cast of 3,879,490, Hichilema has amassed 59 percent of it.

Lusaka residents of all ages are being spotted along roads chanting “Forward! Forward! Amidst defening sounds of honking by motorists.

In Lilanda celebrations have kicked off with UPND sympathisers singing, “Lungu Tashika!,Tashika! (Lungu we have buried! We have buried!).

In Chilenje residents have been celebrating at Chilenje Market were seen dancing and chanting UPND slogans.

Meanwhile Hichilema has announced that he had just concluded the meeting he held with former president Rupiah Banda at his residence.

He has however not divulged what was discussed.
