PF DEDICATES EAST VICTORY TO LUNGU

By ADRIAN MWANZA
OUR victory in Kaumbwe and Lusangazi is dedicated to our former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu who did a lot for our party, says PF Vice President Given Lubinda.
Mr Lubinda said the results in the two by-elections was a warning to the current government that if they did not improve the lives of people, they would be kicked out of power.
He said that the win was for the former head of State whose leadership qualities were unmatched as he championed the peace agenda.
Mr Lubinda said the party had been ridiculed by President Hakainde Hichilema who claimed that it was dead and buried.
“This win has just proved that the party has resurfaced from the grave because we defied all odds to win the Kaumbwe and Lusangazi polls.
He also offered to pay all legal fees for the newly elected Lusangazi Council chairperson, Patrick Banda, who was accused of using a Grade 12 School Certificate which did not belong to him to file in nominations as Council Chairperson.
Meanwhile PF chairperson for Information and Publicity Raphael Nakacinda said the party against all odds managed to win the two by-elections.
“We have dedicated this win to the former republican president because his legacy could not be denied as he steered Zambia in the right direction,” Mr Nakacinda said.
The PF candidate Mr Aaron Mwanza managed to get 6, 633 votes and was closely followed by Ms Esnart Sakala who managed to poll 3, 117 and Mr Masauso Daka of the Socialist Party with 1, 835.
Democratic Party’s candidate Wilbase Tembo got 517 while Listed Tembo an independent had 191 and Charles Nyanoka of the PNUP got 120 votes.
In the Lusangazi Council Chairperson elections Mr Banda managed to scoop the seat after polling 3, 661 votes.
