UPND WARNS AGAINST INCITING YOUTHS

By SANFROSSA MANYINDA

THE United Party for National Development (UPND) in Kitwe says it will ensure that people inciting youths to turn against the government concerning the suspension of operations at dump sites are brought to book.

UPND district youth chairperson Bowas Kapata observed that there some selfish individuals were inciting the youths to rise against the government over the issue.

Mr Kapata said the party leadership would follow-up the matter and ensure that all those found wanting were punished for trying to encourage people to protest against the government.

He said the leadership in the district and province had a list of names of people that were involved in such a behavior, stating that what it needed to do was to keep investigating them and be sure about it.

Mr Kapata was speaking shortly after having engagement meetings with the youths of Wusakile to explain and make them understand why the government made such a decision.

“We know a few selfish individuals that are busy trying to make the work of the government difficult by trying to use the aggrieved youths to turn against the government.

“We will not at any point tolerate such behaviors as a party in government. We want people to always do the right thing especially in a country of laws like Zambia,” he said.

Mr Kapata explained to the youths in the district and province at large that the suspension of the operations  at dump sites was done in good faith.

He said the government took such a stance so that proper programs as to how the dump sites could be managed  can be made.

He said this was the only way that all citizens would benefit and have their share of the national cake.
