UPND was not ready to govern – Lubinda

By NATION REPORTER

THE UPND was just not ready to govern and that is the reason why they have failed to fulfil their promises, Patriotic Front (PF) vice president Given Lubinda has said.

Mr Lubinda said instead of threatening PF members to divert attention, the UPND government should concentrate on delivering on its campaign promises.

Speaking in Masaiti to drum up support for PF candidate Bornwell Ntambo for the Kamufingu ward local government elections yesterday, Mr Lubinda said that the UPND should allow democracy to take charge.

He observed that the UPND promised the Zambian people a lot of things which they should fulfil.

Mr Lubinda said that the PF will support the government in bettering the lives of Zambians adding that when the PF is reminding government over its promises it does not mean that it is criticising.

“We will make sure that Government delivers its promises to the Zambian people,” he said.

He wondered why the ruling party President keeps mentioning Mr Edgar Lungu’s name in his speeches instead of working for the people.

Mr Lubinda also said the UPND was not ready to govern that is the reason why they have failed to fulfil their promises.

And Mr Lubinda said that the people of Zambia should repent to God for voting for the UPND.

He claimed that the UPND government has brought misery to the people of Zambia.

He also said that it was God’s will for the PF to lose elections because there was going to be violence.

Mr Lubinda said that despite winning elections, the UPND cadres have continued harassing people especially those who belong to the former ruling party.

He expressed optimism that the PF will bounce back to power in 2026 because the UPND has failed.

Meanwhile Masaiti member of Parliament Michael Katambo advised people of Kamufingu to vote for the PF.

Mr Katambo called for peaceful by-elections even it they were provoked.
