ASSETS RECOVERY OFFICERS GET TIPS

President Hakainde Hichilema has said that his government will continue to build capacity of law enforcement officers in stolen assets recovery so as to equip them with the use of effective tools to prosecute such cases.


And Hichilema says that his government has prioritized recovery and prosecution of stolen assets and that it is for this reason they have introduced a fast track court to pursue such cases.


Speaking on behalf of President Hichilema when he opened a two day workshop on Stolen Assets Recovery held at Bonanza Resort yesterday , Home Affairs Minister Jack Mwimbu said his government is keen on introducing fast track courts to recover stolen assets as provided for in the constitution .


Mr. Mwiimbu said that asset recovery as provided for in the constitution is one of the most effective way to fight financial crimes as it stops criminals from funding their criminal activities .


And Speaking at the same event Minister of Justice, Mulambo Haimbe said the objective of the training is to equip investigators and prosecutors with the necessary tools and skills they require to effectively investigate and prosecute asset recovery cases .


Mr Haimbe expressed confidence that with such training the observance of the rule of law will observed and justice dispersed.
