EXPLAIN YOURSELF, SATA URGES HH

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema should explain the context of the comment he made about a clique of thieves because people have evidently got different interpretations, says former Republican President Michael Chilufya Sata’s son, Mulenga.
Mr Sata said that he was sure President Hichilema did not mean the past heads of State but that the people that surrounded them.
He said the word clique did not mean the head of State but the people that surrounded him that personally, he thought it was blown out of proportion.
“I have not followed the issue very well that’s why I do not feel very comfortable to talk about it but the best would be for President Hichilema to explain to the people so that there is no distortion,’’ he said.
Mr Sata also dispelled aspersions that the clique being referred to were Bembasand Easterners because the late President Levy Mwanawasa was not from these two groupings.
President Hichilema upon arrival on Sunday from Scotland where he went to attend the Cop26 summit said the country was ran by a clique of thieves feeding off public resources from Independence and they didn’t think someone else, other people can run a country in a better way.
