PF WRANGLES DEEPEN

By SILUMESI MALUMO
PATRIOTIC Front (PF) acting Secretary General Nickson Chilangwa has given embattled Lusaka Province acting youth chairperson Kelvin Kaunda seven days to exculpate himself for gross indiscipline.
Mr Chilangwa said Mr Kaunda needs to show cause why disciplinary action should not be taken against him as laid out in the party constitution article number 74.
“You have been given seven days to exculpate yourself and your matter must be addressed to the chairperson of the Disciplinary Committee,” Mr Chilangwa said.
Mr Chilangwa indicated that after the dissolution of the Lusaka Province committee Mr Kaunda participated in illegal activities.
He said Mr Kaunda held an illegal meeting at the secretariat knowing very well that he no longer held such powers.
He called members of bona fide structures to an illegal meeting, he said, misinterpreting the facts that led to the dissolution of the committee.
“Casting aspersions on the leaders of the party especially members of the central committee, issuing threats against the leadership of the party, bringing the name of the party into ridicule and disrepute, misrepresenting yourself as Youth chairperson,” Mr Chilangwa said.
After dissolution of the committee on Wednesday by Mr Chilangwa, on Thursday Mr Kaunda rejected the dissolution, stating that it was null and void.
He called on the Secretary General to rescind his decision for the betterment of the party.
