By BUUMBA CHIMBULU

GOVERNMENT should deepen its multi-sectorial approach to gain the necessary efforts to trigger economic growth.

Zambia’s development agenda does not have a one-single package as a source of focus to help trigger economic growth but requires a surplus of many substantial efforts from both the public and private sector.

This is according to Social Economist’s Kelvin Chisanga in a write-up issued in Lusaka yesterday.

Mr Chisanga said Zambia had many advantageous investment opportunities surrounding both the tourism and agriculture sector.

He indicated that the mining industry being the main backbone for this economy, many urgently need some strong complementary sectors within the local market to help incentivize on copper dependence system.

“The Government should continue to work on deepening bilateral and multilateral from many possible partnerships especially from both private and public sectors, they should work to deepen their development strides especially following the electoral gains made in 2021.

“The pronouncements that were highlighted about fine-tuning of the public procurement and private public partnership Acts will greatly help out to align on the desired trajectories,” Mr Chisanga said.

He said the emphasis should continue to remain firm on building capacities across the board within the various functions of the Government, deploying digital solutions through the use of science and technologies, promoting good virtues of governance systems.

Mr Chisanga said this would build investor’s confidence, fostering a conducive environment which must always strive to be engaging and must be at all times indulging into some innovative solutions coupled with friendly atmosphere of full blown Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (SME) participations.

“This will enhance inclusive economic growth from the productive or potential sector and they should also aim to leverage certain policy levers which should remain quite resolute to enabling of the proper functioning and sustenance of some economic national pillars like agriculture, constructions, tourism, and among others,” he said.
