HH’s SPEECH INSPIRES YOUTH BODY

By ANDREW MUKOMA

THE Centre for Unity and Youth Development Executive (CUYDE) has been elated by inauguration speech by Zambia’s 7th President Hakainde Hichilema during his swearing in on Tuesday this week.

CUYDE Director Gerald Maumbi said that the presidential speech has given hope for youths to be skilled and empowered in the new government.

He said it was the desire of every young person to see the new administration create a conducive environment for them to engage in entrepreneurial activities.

Mr Maumbi observed that the New Dawn for youths was to see a corrupt free regime where young people would not have to pay or know someone in order to get a job or a government contract.

He added that nepotism has robbed deserving youths their rights to have access to jobs, hence the need to curb the vice.

Mr Maumbi said as a result of the strong message in the speech, corruption and poverty would be fought so that equitable opportunities for all people could be created.

He called on young people to get inspired by President Hichilema’s political and business journey as he upholds hard work and integrity.
