VEEP Nalumango directs Livingstone City Council to open City Market

By ANDREW MUKOMA

VICE President Mutale Nalumango has directed the Livingstone City Council to ensure  the City Market in the tourist capital begins operating in the next two months.

Ms Nalumango said there is need for National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) and the  council to work on the paper work and make sure that the market starts working.

The Vice President said this in Livingstone on Monday after touring the market.

She noted that its opening of the market will help in removing people from the streets adding that the infrastructure will give decency to the marketeers to trade from a conducive environment.

Ms Nalumabo urged the local authority to ensure that everyone is accommodated adding that every Zambian has a right to trade from there.

Earlier the Vice President also visited the Raddson Blu Mosi-oa-Tunya Resort being constructed under the hospices of NAPSA.

She said that once completed the hotel will help create jobs for the people and add value to the beauty of Livingstone as a tourist capital. Ms Nalumango expressed happiness on the completion date which was set for September but will be done by June adding that Zambians must adopt the culture of finishing projects before time.
