THE decision by the Minister of Health to reshuffle management at Matero Level One Hospital is a political decision meant to hoodwink people, the Resident Doctors Association of Zambia (RDAZ) has said.
RDAZ president, Brian Sampa, said Minister of Health Sylvia Masebo’s announcement that she had reshuffled management at the Hospital was not genuine.
Dr Sampa said that the claim by Ms Masebo that the reshuffle was meant to address the complaints of drug shortages and sanitary conditions was just mere politicking meant to sway the people’s attention.
He said instead of making the political statements, the Minister should have first understood the genesis of the problems at hand.
“There is need to address the problems causing the lack of drugs and poor sanitary conditions rather than heaping the blame on health workers and turning the public against them,” he said.
