ZAMBIA NOW DESTINATION OF CHOICE FOR FOREIGN DIRECT- UPND
THE new dawn government under the stewardship of President Hakainde Hichilema will continue
promoting trade and investment because it’s key to unlocking social and economic development, says
UPND secretary general Batuke Imenda.
He said the UPND’s economic policy is aimed at transforming the country.
Mr Imenda was speaking during a side meeting with Zambia’s Acting High Commissioner to South Africa
Inonge Mwenya, at the Africa National Congress (ANC) national conference.
The UPND chief Executive officer is leading the party delegation at the 55th African National Conference
in Johannesburg, South Africa.
He said Zambia under the UPND Government has become a destination of choice for Foreign Direct
Investments (FDIs) because of the conducive business environment.
Mr Imenda said trade and investment play an important role in the promotion of economic
development and that Government wants to promote trade and investment and that maintaining sound
bilateral relations with other countries is key in maintaining the economic transformation momentum
alive.
And Zambia’s Acting High Commissioner to South Africa Inonge Mwenya reiterated the Mission’s
commitment to playing its part in ensuring enhanced ties between Zambia and South Africa across
various sectors in line with government’s agenda on actualizing economic diplomacy.
