PRUDENTIAL Zambia has through its Prudence Foundation partnered with the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) and other stakeholders to launch the Safe Steps 2023 Road Safety campaign.
Speaking during the launch of the campaign, Prudential Chief Operations Officer Raymond Ngoma said the campaign by the Prudence Foundation is an initiative aimed at raising awareness and provide lifesaving educational content to road users and local communities.
Mr Ngoma said Prudential believes that road traffic accidents and fatalities can be mitigated with consistent and visible educational material, equipment, road signage and emergency services.
And RTSA deputy director Safety Engineer Alinani Msisya said stakeholder collaboration activities such as safe steps are an integral part in implementing effective road safety measures to reduce road traffic crashes countrywide.
Speaking on behalf of RTSA chief executive officer Eng Amon Mweemba disclosed that Africa as a continent had the highest road traffic crash fatalities.
