By TROY MUKUPA

ELVIS CHANDA is a fast-rising Kalindula/Chiunda type of music artiste who is certainly one to look out for in this gener. The talented singer and songwriter whose sound is largely inspired by the likes of Zambia’s renowned artistes in Chester, Rich Bizzy, Afunika, Shenky, Alifatiq, to mention but a few, has so far proven as a force to be reckoned with.

Although, Elvis, has been singing most of his life, he released his first-professional-single in 2019 dubbed ‘Salary Yanomba’ which he says was inspired from the salary he was getting while working for a named company.

He has observed that the demand by Zambians for mature music is what has inspired him to write songs that will stand the test of time.

The energetic singer who last week mesmerised patrons that had flocked to the famous Mukupa’s Guest House for a show that was tagged “Long Weekend Bash” that was sponsored by Ms. Suwi, has not released an album yet but has worked on some singles that have been recieved well by the industry and the fanbase.

He has songs which patrons enjoyed singing along to like, Ashaineko, Choice Yakwe, Umuntu, Efyo Chalila Kumwesu, and Insubilo featuring Don. Others are, Satana, Tatwalale featuring Alifatiq & Chiz, Akabwelela Kalalya and Tulechifwenkemuna.

“I have been in music for 5 years and my dream/goal is to become a great artiste like Chester, Jk and Afunika, as I continue to creating music that speaks to the listener. The kind that feels good to listen to. The kind that will challenge the listeners to ponder over life aspects am bringing out in my songs”

Elvis, assures his fanbase for more hit songs from him as he continues to cement his name and music career in this industry. His songs are available and can be accessed on all streaming platforms.
