By FLAVIOR KANUNGO

UPND president Hakainde Hichilema’s brother has publicly complained of being ill-treated by his brother  over missing cows which led to his incarceration and having his house grabbed.

Mr Hichilema’s brother Wilfred Hichilema and his four siblings have consequently endorsed the candidature of President Edgar Lungu ahead of the August 12 polls.

Wilfred explains that he was sent to prison for five years by his brother over two cows which went missing from his farm.

He also disclosed that after he was sent to prison Mr Hichilema allegedly grabbed 49 cows and a farm from him which he still owns.

He has accused Mr Hichilema of being a cruel man who thrives on misfortunes of his family members.

Wilfred said despite serving Mr Hichilema at his farm for 10 years, he did not receive any material or financial support from him.

“HH is a cruel man and cannot rule over this country unless the people of Zambia want to end up in prison, he is fond of taking his family members to the police what more outsiders?” Wilfred said.

“He never once visited me while I was in prison and even after I was released he never checked on me and my family,” he said.

Wilfred has since defected to the Patriot Front.

And his sister Maureen Hichilema accused the UPND president of using her for personal gains.

Ms Hichilema says she campaigned for him in 2016 but all to no avail as she has not received any support from him since she lost her husband in 2012.

She said despite Mr Hichilema being rich, she lives in a two-room house and her children have all dropped out of school.

Meanwhile Itezhi- Itezhi’ Kabanga ward UPND chairperson Gerald Chitanda said he has wasted his resources in the UPND without reaping anything.

Mr Chitanda said he decided to leave the UPND because Mr Hichilema is ungrateful.

And welcoming the defectors PF vice national chairperson for mobilisation Geoffrey Mwamba said “operation dismantle” was working in favour of the ruling party.

He says he will quickly fuse in the newcomers in the party into the “operation dismantle”  strategy to ensure that UPND is wiped out.
