IT is abuse of office for the Republican Vice President Inonge Wina to continue allowing PF presidential running mate to campaign using state resources, NDC faction Vice president Edward Mumbi has said.
Mr Mumbi said it is unlawful for Ms Wina to continue going round with PF presidential running mate Prof Nkandu Luo using public resources.
Mr Mumbi said Prof Nkandu does not hold any government position for her to be using state resources.
“Prof Nkandu should not enjoy state resources because she does not hold any government position, therefore it is abuse of authority for Madam Wina to continue escorting her to do her campaigns using state resources,” Mr Mumbi said.
He said the continued use of public resources by Prof Luo is petitionable and should be stopped.
“In an event that President Edgar Lungu and Prof Luo win the election then the elections can be petitioned,” he said.
Mr Mumbi said the precedent has been set in the matter of Michael Mabenga Vs Sikota Wina when the election of Mr Michael Mabenga was nullified for campaigning using state resources.
Mr Mumbi said the election of President Lungu and Prof Luo will be petitioned.
Mr Mumbi said Ms Wina as a respectable senior citizen should avoid going to jail after retirement by stopping Prof Luo from campaigning using public resources.
My advice is that Mrs Wina should stop immediately to be giving Prof Luo access to state resources to campaign.
