KAMBWILI, LUO DIFFER OVER PF TOP JOB

By SIMON MUNTEMBA

PATRIOTIC Front (PF) losing presidential running mate Nkandu Luo and former Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili have differed over the party presidency in leaked voice notes.

In a voice note, Professor Luo said Mr Kambwili was not eligible to succeed PF president Edgar Lungu because he rejoined the party recently from UPND Alliance.

But Mr Kambwili retaliated that Prof Luo was actually a newcomer whom he welcomed in the PF when she ditched MMD.

Prof Luo, who was heard chatting with one of the PF officials, had accused Mr Kabwili of bribing people to support his PF presidential ambition.

On the other hand, Mr Kambwili complained that it was unfair for Prof Luo to accuse him of buying support to lead the party in the 2026 election when his businesses had collapsed and he could not afford to buy people.

He took a swipe at Prof Luo for questioning where he had come from to demand the PF presidency.

Mr Kambwili said he was one of the PF members who welcomed Prof Luo when she defected from the MMD.

And when contacted to confirm and clarify her comments, Prof Luo said she was not available for a comment.

“Sorry, I am not talking to the press, I am actually in the farm,” Prof. Luo said before cutting the call.

Meanwhile, when contacted for a comment, Mr Kambwili said he did not believe in “washing dirty linen on public.”

He said he did not want to be part of the people that wanted to kill PF completely.

“I would rather resolve the matter internally and not through the media. I would like to see this remain an internal issue and resolved by PF internally.

“I don’t want to be part of the people that want to destroy PF, I want it to be resolved internally by PF and not us responding to each other through the press,” Mr Kambwili said.
