ZARAGOZA CFF striker Hellen Mubanga will miss the rest of the 2021-22 Spanish Reto Iberdrola season after undergoing a successful operation on her right knee on Wednesday.
The news comes nearly 10 days after Mubanga’s teammate, Rachael Nachula suffered a distal ulna fracture of her right wrist in the Spanish side’s 1-0 win over C.D Parquesol Femenino in the Reto Iberdrola.
Nachula’s season is not over as she is expected back in action following her successful operation.
“Our Zambian international, Hellen Mubanga has undergone a successful operation for her torn meniscus in her right knee, she will be out for the remainder of the season,” Zaragoza said in a short statement.
“We wish you a good recovery. Cheer up, Hellen!”
On Nachula, the club said:
“Our international player, Racheal Nachula has been operated successfully for the distal ulna fracture suffered in her right wrist. Cheer up, Nachula! We hope to see you again with the team soon!”
There are three Copper Queens players in Spain. Apart from Nachula and Mubanga, forward Rachael Kundananji turns up for Spanish Primera Division club SD Eibar.
