CHISHIMBA Kambwili does not qualify to contest the PF presidency for as long as he has no position in the party structures, Rainbow Party President Wynter Kabimba has said.
Mr Kabimba who is a lawyer and former PF Secretary General said if PF went to the general convention today, Mr Chishimba could not attend, let alone contest the position of president because he does not hold any position in the party.
He said Mr Kambwili was ineligible just as Mr Kelvin Bwalya Fube was not because he was not a delegate of the party and that was the rule.
He said it was unfortunate but people pushing for his presidency needed to know that he was not eligible.
“If PF goes to a general conference today and that is most important, Chishimba Kambwili does not qualify to attend that meeting because he does not hold any position in the party despite being popular,” he said.
Mr Kabimba said Mr Kennedy Kamba was misleading Mr Kambwili on him taking over and that they were just trying to create confusion in the party.
He said the acting secretary general was in order to dissolve the Lusaka Province executive committee because they were trying to create confusion in the party.
Mr Kabimba said PF needed to resolve the wrangles before they escalated as this could force the party to go into oblivion,
He said no one would like to see PF go into oblivion but the current ongoing wrangles were a suicide mission which would have serious consequences if not handled well.
Mr Kabimba said that it was disappointing to note that the party which was trying to rebrand was marred in deep wrangles on who took over the presidency.
“PF is committing suicide with the divisions and if the party is not careful it could be the end of them. They should just unite and forge ahead as a single unit,” he said.
PF acting secretary-general Nickson Chilangwa dissolved the Lusaka Province executive committee.
