K5M pumped into construction equipment
By BUUMBA CHIMBULU
OVER K5 million has been invested in the procurement of construction equipment and manufacturing of floor glaze from 2019 to date by Rodevesi Industrial Flooring Limited.
The company has worked on a number of projects since inception, which included the refurbishment of Shikoswe Market in Kafue, the building Chipapa Clinic and Silverest Housing complex, says Company Chief Executive Officer, Rodgers Siwila.
Mr Siwila in an interview recently said the firm had also manufactured Floor Glaze clear epoxy and among others.
He said they had so far created 13 permanent jobs for the local citizens, stating that when the company has a project, the workload increases to about 100.
“We are specialized in concrete placement but we have also diversified and broadened our business into manufacturing of floor glaze, this is liquid polish.
“We are also into construction and have participated in the link Zambia project under Avic International where we were contracted to build drainages,” Mr Siwila said.
He said the company also offers consultancy services in the construction sectors, saying that this had enabled it to grow its revenue base.
Furthermore, Mr Siwila said the company has managed to grow its revenue base from K600, 000 in 2019 to about K9 million annually due to the support the business was receiving from its clients.
He said the company was prompted in going into concrete placements to fill in the gap for the commodity because there is not company into this business.
Mr Siwila said currently the company was manufacturing 3,000 liters of floor glaze per month and plans to increase to meet demand.
Currently, the region requires 200,000 to 350,000 litres of the floor polish annually.
He said to increase production the company would establish an automated plant to produce about 170,000 liters of the floor polish.
Mr Siwila said the firm had opened up outlets in Lusaka and plans are underway to launch in the Copperbelt aimed at effectively reaching out
to customers.
