I HAVE been vindicated that UPND is a violent party as cadres in full view of the party secretary general Stephen Katuka insulted traded insults and exchanged blows, Patriotic Front (PF) Vice Chairperson for Mobilisation Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba has said.
Mr Mwamba, commonly known as GBM, said the party leadership and the membership at large had accused him of fueling violence in the party when he had no such intentions.
He said in an interview yesterday that if he had been responsible for the violence, it would have ended immediately he ditched the party.
Mr Mwamba said the fact that the cadres could now fight in presence of their leaders, was clear testimony that the party was violent.
“Rising from what happened a few days ago at the UPND secretariat were cadres in full view of their secretary general Katuka started exchanging blows and insulting each other, I think this is a clear sign that this party was not ready to take over power.
“How could you have undisciplined structure of cadres who are always fighting? In fact if I may quote honourable Mweetwa who said it’s GBM who brought violence in UPND, but is GBM still there? In fact, I found violence in UPND.
“I was number two from Hakainde Hichilema and I knew what the cadres were planning and what they were going to do and at what time they will do it. So what I can tell the Zambians is that UPND is a violent party,” he said.
Mr Mwamba said the party’s leadership was trying to portray that the party was not violent when in fact it was the most dangerous political party.
He claimed that UPND should not be trusted as it had a team of thugs and violent people.
