Mulobezi in new projects

By ANDREW MUKOMA
MULOBEZI district of Western Province has witnessed many developmental projects since its declaration as a district, Council Chairperson Peter Malumo has said.
He said the district had received a number of developmental projects under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
In an interview with the Daily Nation in Mulobezi, Mr Malumo said that people in the area were excited with the on-going development.
“We are very happy as people of Mulobezi district for the developments that Government is doing. What is happening here is that we have projects being undertaken by Government and the Council through the CDF.
“As a district or Constituency, we received K 1.6 million under CDF and from that amount, we managed to build schools at Namakala, Sanembo, Kazuzi and Mulobezi which are all operational,” he said.
Mr Malumo explained that the district bought a tipper truck which was being used on many projects.
“Our biggest challenge is the road network. Our road from Simungoma Mulobezi Luampa road is very bad. It needs to be rehabilitated and that is our biggest plea from the Government.
“Our request is to the Government to work on the road. We have written to the Road Development Agency so that they can help us on the issue,” Mr Malumo said.
