Zamtel records rising demand on internet services

By BUUMBA CHIMBULU
THE rise in the number of people working from home has pushed demand for internet services, says Zamtel Chief Commercial Officer Chibeza Ngoma.
Mr Ngoma said there had been a significant increase in demand for internet services as more people adopt Work-from-Home strategies in light of Covid-19 pandemic.
He said Zamtel therefore expected to witness a continued surge in demand for internet services across the country due to the virtual business world.
“Zamtel has adequate capacity on its mobile and fixed internet network to accommodate the increasing number of users during this period of the outbreak,” he said when he officially launched a Zamtel Mini Customer Service Centre in Kafue.
Mr Ngoma ruled out possibility of congestion on the network as more people seek to stay online longer at home as prevention against Covid-19.
He said the launch of the Zamtel Mini Customer Service Centre in Kafue coincided with the completion of the full roll out of 4G on mobile service across the district.
Mr Ngoma announced that Zamtel had achieved a blanket 4G coverage of Kafue district.
“Our Kafue customers can now enjoy fast speed internet as they stay home during this Covid-19 outbreak,” he said.
