I WON’T APOLOGISE TO CHITIMUKULU – LUKUKU
By KETRA KALUNGA
OPPOSITION Alliance spokesperson James Lukuku says he won’t apologise to Paramount Chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba over derogatory remarks against him.
Mr Lukuku said he would not apologise to the traditional leader for wrongs that he did not commit, adding that he has never had any issues with the chief.
The Republican Progressive Party president maintained that there was nothing to apologise for because he did not hurt the Bemba paramount chief in any way.
Paramount Chief Chitimukulu recently refused to meet UPND president Hakainde Hichilema, alleging that his political partners in the Opposition Alliance referred to him as a misplaced and wrong chief.
Mr Lukulu claimed that he did not issue the statement which infuriated Paramount Chief Chitimukulu, but that the Patriotic Front (PF) manipulated the statement.
Mr Lukuku alleged that most of the contents in the statement were manipulated by the PF, adding that he was able to point out lies presented to Paramount Chief Chitimukulu which angered him.
“Apologising is putting a case on yourself because it is an admission that I insulted the chief which I did not do, so where am I going to start from?”
“I am in Kasama right now but I am not even bothered to go to the palace and say anything because I’m not going to seek anything,” he said.
Mr Lukuku said: “I cannot make peace with the paramount chief when I already have peace with him.”
